Finding a therapist shouldn't feel like a guessing game.
Most platforms hand you a list and wish you luck. InPsync does something different. We get to know you first your personality, how you communicate, what you actually need from a therapeutic relationship then match you with someone genuinely suited to you. Not just whoever has a Tuesday free.

Compatibility-led
Personality + communication fit
Launching
Australia-wide in 2026
The way we find therapists is broken.
Most platforms treat therapy like a booking service.
You scroll through profiles that all say roughly the same thing. You pick someone based on their photo, their availability, or because they came up first. You show up. It doesn't click. Maybe you try again. Maybe you don't.
This is how most Australians find a therapist right now and it's why so many people give up before therapy has a real chance to help.
The research is unambiguous: the single biggest predictor of whether therapy works is the relationship between you and your therapist. It's called the therapeutic alliance. Yet almost every directory out there ignores it completely matching you on location and availability, never on whether you're actually going to connect.
InPsync is built differently. Instead of handing you a list and leaving you to guess, we get to know you first then match you with a therapist whose way of working is genuinely suited to yours.
Therapy matching that starts with you.
Before you see a single profile, we take the time to understand you. How you communicate. How you relate to people. What you actually need from a therapeutic relationship. Then we find therapists whose natural way of working is most likely to feel like a genuine fit not just someone who happens to be available.
It's not a directory. It's not a search engine. It's a matching platform built on the science of what actually makes therapy work.
Personality-based matching
We look at your personality, attachment style, and communication preferences, then match you with therapists who are genuinely compatible not just credentialled.
Grounded in research
The therapeutic alliance accounts for more of therapy's effectiveness than technique, experience, or modality combined. Every part of InPsync is built around that fact.
A Human Algorithm
The matching is powered by science, but what you get is a warm introduction not a transaction. A real person, in a way that actually feels right.
We know there are already so many hoops to jump through when you're trying to find the right support. So we've condensed this into three simple steps to help you find your fit.
Take the quiz
Answer a short set of questions about how you communicate, how you relate to people, and what you're looking for in a therapeutic relationship. Find a quiet space where you feel comfortable, take your time, and remember there are no right or wrong answers.
Scroll Through Your Matches
Our matching algorithm finds therapists who are most likely to feel like a genuine fit for you based on personality compatibility, communication style, and how they support people in therapy. Don't worry if you haven't tried therapy before we know it can feel confusing, but we're here to help you find the right person.
Reach Out and Connect
Find someone you feel like you'd connect with and send them a short introduction about yourself. They'll let you know if they're able to support you. If they can't, you can reach out to another therapist from your matches.
The right fit isn't a nice-to-have.
It's what makes therapy work.
Decades of research in clinical psychology and therapeutic practice have established something crystal clear: the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is the strongest predictor of whether therapy leads to real change. Yet almost no directory or platform actually solves for this.
They match you on availability, location, or credentials but not on whether you're actually going to connect. This is where InPsync is different. We're not trying to build another directory. We're building a platform that puts therapeutic alliance first because that's what actually matters.

Built by someone who understands.
I'm Ebony Coldrey, a registered counsellor based in Perth, and I founded InPsync. Throughout my studies and early career, I worked in private practice doing something I became really passionate about matching people with therapists who were genuinely right for them. I didn't just look at who was available. I looked at personality, communication style, and what each person actually needed from a therapeutic relationship.
I noticed therapists worked really differently. Some were direct and structured. Others were gentler and more exploratory. And I realised there was nothing out there that helps people find a therapist whose natural way of working actually matches what they need.
Yet the research is crystal clear: the therapeutic alliance the relationship between you and your therapist is the single biggest predictor of whether therapy works.
I've sat on both sides of the chair, as the person doing the matching and as a client myself. So I understand this problem from every angle. I'm a mental health professional who had never built a business before but I felt so strongly about solving this that I built InPsync anyway. Because everyone deserves the right fit, and the way we find therapists right now just isn't good enough. That's why we're here.
