The right therapist doesn't just have availability.
They have you in mind.
InPsync matches you with a therapist based on who you actually are your personality, how you communicate, and what you need from a therapeutic relationship. Not just who's free on Tuesday.

Compatibility-led
Personality + communication fit

You scroll through a directory of therapists...
You've probably been here before. You scroll through a directory of therapists. You read similar descriptions from most of them, and you still have no idea who would actually be right for you. So you pick someone based on their photo, or their availability, or because they came up first. You book a session. It doesn't click. Maybe you try again. Maybe you give up.
This is how most people find a therapist in Australia right now. And it's not working.
The research is clear: the single biggest predictor of whether therapy actually helps you is the relationship between you and your therapist. It's called the therapeutic alliance. Yet almost every directory or platform out there ignores this completely. They match you on availability. On location. On who happens to have an opening. Not on whether you're actually going to connect.
"The single biggest predictor of whether therapy works is the relationship between you and your therapist."
Therapy matching that starts with you.
InPsync is a platform that matches you with a therapist based on psychological compatibility not just availability or location. Before you even see a single therapist profile, we take the time to understand you. How you communicate. How you relate to people. What you need from a therapeutic relationship. Then we find therapists whose natural way of working is most likely to feel like a genuine fit for you. It's not a directory. It's not a search engine. It's a matching platform built on the science of what actually makes therapy work and that's the therapeutic alliance. Because the right fit isn't a nice to have. It's what makes therapy actually work.
Personality-based matching
We assess your personality, attachment style, and communication preferences then match you with therapists whose profiles are genuinely compatible with yours.
Grounded in research
The therapeutic alliance the bond between you and your therapist accounts for more of therapy's effectiveness than any other factor. InPsync is built on this evidence.
A Human Algorithm
Our matching is powered by science, but the result is a warm introduction not a transaction. You connect with a real person, in a way that feels right.
We know there are already so many hoops to jump through when you're trying to find the right support. So we've condensed this into three simple steps to help you find your fit.
Take the quiz
Answer a short set of questions about how you communicate, how you relate to people, and what you're looking for in a therapeutic relationship. Find a quiet space where you feel comfortable, take your time, and remember there are no right or wrong answers.
Scroll Through Your Matches
Our matching algorithm finds therapists who are most likely to feel like a genuine fit for you based on personality compatibility, communication style, and how they support people in therapy. Don't worry if you haven't tried therapy before we know it can feel confusing, but we're here to help you find the right person.
Reach Out and Connect
Find someone you feel like you'd connect with and send them a short introduction about yourself. They'll let you know if they're able to support you. If they can't, you can reach out to another therapist from your matches.
The right fit isn't a nice-to-have.
It's what makes therapy work.
Decades of research in clinical psychology and therapeutic practice have established something crystal clear: the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is the strongest predictor of whether therapy leads to real change. Yet almost no directory or platform actually solves for this.
They match you on availability, location, or credentials but not on whether you're actually going to connect. This is where InPsync is different. We're not trying to build another directory. We're building a platform that puts therapeutic alliance first because that's what actually matters.

Built by someone who understands.
InPsync was founded by Ebony Coldrey, a registered counsellor based in Perth. Throughout my studies and early career, I worked in private practice doing something I became really passionate about matching people with therapists who were genuinely right for them. I didn't just look at who was available. I looked at personality, communication style, and what each person actually needed from a therapeutic relationship.
I noticed therapists worked really differently. Some were direct and structured. Others were gentler and more exploratory. And I realised there was literally nothing out there that helps people find the therapist whose natural way of working matches what they need.
Yet the research is crystal clear therapeutic alliance, the relationship between you and your therapist, is the biggest predictor of whether therapy actually works.
I've sat on both sides of the chair as the person matching clients and as a client myself. So I understand the problem from every angle. Although I'm a mental health professional and counsellor who had never built a business like this before, I felt so strongly about solving this problem that I built InPsync. Because I truly believe everyone deserves the right fit support, and the way we find therapists right now just isn't good enough. That's why we're here.
